Better than the crimp end to end splice. Gives a secure connection for adding lengths of cable or splicing in, if you need to cut out some existing cable for damage replacement or other needs for splicing. Available in brass or aluminum.
Bolt tension connecters are the best. You tighten it well enough and you never have to worry if it will come loose, especially in concealed systems. It’s well worth the extra money. It’s all we use on our installations.
